Task name: Design (in the field of signalling) and comprehensive execution of construction works on railway line no. 622 on section H Szczyrzyc — Tymbark as part of the Project: Construction of a new railway line Podłęże - Szczyrzyc - Tymbark/Mszana Dolna and modernisation of the existing railway line no. 104 Chabówka - Nowy Sącz - Stage II"

Implementation period: 2026 - 2027 | Work system: continuous production

Currently the longest railway tunnel under construction in Poland

Railway line 622 on section H Tymbark - Szczyrzyc

Transbet TCS is carrying out another project in the field of tunnel construction — the production of reinforcement cages for railway tunnels T7 and T9 and evacuation tunnel T9 on railway line no. 622, section H Szczyrzyc – Tymbark. The project is part of the Podłęże–Piekiełko" investment, one of the key infrastructure undertakings in Poland in recent years.

Its aim is to significantly reduce travel time and improve transport accessibility in southern Poland, particularly in the Małopolska and Podhale regions. The project is a natural continuation of Transbet TCS railway investments — both in terms of technology and production organisation.

Role of Transbet TCS

Transbet TCS is responsible for the production of reinforcement cages for railway tunnels T7 and T9 and evacuation tunnel T9. The scope of work covers comprehensive prefabrication of reinforcement elements for TBM-drilled tunnel linings — from steel preparation and processing, through welding in certified technology, to quality control and delivery logistics of finished prefabricates.

Steel racks and universal molds for reinforcement cage welding were designed and manufactured as part of the project. The molds are equipped with colour markings of bar positioning points, described in welding instructions, ensuring high precision, production repeatability and compliance with tunnel design requirements.

The organisation of production halls was also designed, guaranteeing work ergonomics and optimal workstation placement. A FIFO-compliant storage system was implemented, enabling identification of reinforcement cages by production date and type — minimising the risk of steel corrosion and ensuring continuity of deliveries.

Organisation and execution

Production is carried out in a continuous system, requiring precise synchronisation of production works and deliveries with the progress of tunnel boring. Operational flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to changing implementation conditions are of key importance.

Experience gained on previous tunnel projects enables effective management of the entire process — from production preparation, through execution, to deliveries to the construction site. Proven solutions developed during the LK104 Tunnel" project are used in this task.
